Wanderlust & Adventure

Grand Junction, CO and Colorado National Monument – Fergie 2017 Summer Adventure, Day 5 & 6

After 4 days in Utah and visits to all five of the Mighty 5 National Parks, we were ready to bid farewell to Utah and make our way to beautiful Colorado!  We headed out of Green River in the early afternoon and before too long crossed into the Rocky Mountain State.  Along the way, Pierce napped and read to a baby doll. 20170711_130048

Once we arrived to Grand Junction, we were ready to settle in for a couple of nights. We stayed at the Grand Vista hotel, http://www.grandvistahotel.com, and recommend it.  Views are pretty, freeway access is great, and it has good proximity to restaurants and shopping in town.  We decided to visit downtown Grand Junction that first evening.  Very cute downtown! The kids enjoyed strolling around, the giant bicycle, and ice cream.

The next day, we decided to check out Colorado National Monument, just a few miles west of Grand Junction. It was beautiful, and we enjoyed a short little hike.
