Day 17 – Yellowstone, Teton, Jackson Hole —> Idaho (Boring drive alert)

On the third Sunday of our trip, we packed up the car once more and headed into Yellowstone.  We essentially just drove through it, but if you read my last post, you know that took F-O-R-E-V-E-R.  We were thrilled to leave the park and head south into Grand Teton National Park. It was beautiful! We stopped for a while, got a stamp in our National Parks passport book, and then had more beautiful scenery as we headed into Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The Tetons

Jackson, Wyoming is SUPER COOL!  This is on my list of places to return to.  It would have been fun to have more time to explore and shop, and I’m sure in the winter it is just magical!

From Jackson, we started the drive to Boise, Idaho, where we would be staying with family for the next five nights. The first part of the drive west, through the mountains, was really pretty.  After that, it was truly 4 hours of torture.  Having driven through the bulk of the US, I can tell you this was the most boring drive I have ever been on!  If I ever claim I want to travel between Boise and Yellowstone, PLEASE STOP ME!

The best part of the drive was stopping at Taco Time at some random gas station in Nowheresville, Idaho.  Yum!

We were so excited to finally arrive at Grammy’s house just outside Boise to hang out with family all week!
